9-Day The Itinerary:
Route feature:In this 9 days tour,you will see not only many beautiful palces in Lhasa,but also you can see Shalu Monastery,Ngor Monastery,Nartang Monastery,Tashilunpo Monastery and have many trekkings around these famous monasteries. Starting City: Chengdu( Beijing, Xian, Shanghai...) Ending City: Lhasa This two or three day walk is a good opportunity to get a feel for trekking in Tibet. The two passes en route, Showa-la and Char-la, are not panicularly high or difficult and the trailheads are easily accessible from Shigatse.
This trek begins at the historic Shalu Monastery and traverses west over a couple of small ranges to Ngor Monastery. From Ngor it is a downhill slog to Nartang Monastery. The route passes through several villages as well as uninhabited dry canyons. It is about a 10 hour walk to Ngor from Shalu, which is best divided into two days and another seven hours from there to Nartang.
This trek tour can be done from April to the end of October.

Day04 Lhasa / Yamdrok-tso / Gyantse Overnight at Gyantse. Head to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso there. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then drive back to chushul, along Nepal friendship way to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet.
Day05 Gyantse / Shalu Monastery / upper Lungsang, trekking 5 -6 hours, 14km Overnight in Tent Drive to Shalu Monastery from Gyantse, only 70km away. Visit Shalu Monastery. Then start trekking. Camping
Day06 Upper Lungsang / Ngor Monastery, trekking 4hours, 8km, camping
Day07 Ngor Monastery / Nartang Monastery / Shigatse, trekking 5 hours, 18km Overnight in Tent Today trekking from Ngor to Nartang by passing several villages, saddles, and one electric utility. After arriving at Nartang Monastery, our driver will pick you up to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse ( Manasarovar Hotel or Shigatse Hotel).
Day08 Shigatse / Tashilhunpo Monastery/ Lhasa Overnight at Lhasa. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, afternoon drive back to Lhasa.

Mt.Kailash Kora actually is pilgrim circumambulation. Many pilgrims of all religions come to worship the mountain and to walk around it. Right now it becomes a very popular trekking route for tourists. More and more people come here to do the Kailash Kora. The kora is 53 km long, starting at the town of Darchen just south of the mountain, going up the western valley, then crossing a high pass to the north of the mountain, and walking down the valley to the east of the mountain all the way back to Darchen. Day07 Drive from Saga to Paryang through the windswept territory passing many villages and camps of Yak herders with the distance view of snow capped mountains(250km, 7-8hours, 4600m high). Overnight at Paryang ( Guest House, drom bed)
Day 08 Drive from Paryang to Lake Manasarovar through open territory with a view of distant mountains, Yak herders camp, if lucky might come across a herd of Kang (Wild Ass (294km, 8hours, 4558m high), you will have the first sight of Holy Kailash and Manasarovara. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery ( Guest house, dorm bed) L + D
Day09 Rest and sightseeing at Lake Manasarivar. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery ( Guest house, dorm bed)
Day10 Drive from Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (60km, 2hours, 4560m high), prepare for trekking. Overnight at Kailash Hotel.
Day11 Trek from Darchen to Dira-puk Monastery, 20km, takes about 5 - 6hours
The first day's parikarama is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. The trail leads to few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Dirapuk (4,750 m.). Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailash, north west face at Dirapuk for overnight halt.
Day12 Trek from Dira-puk Monastery to Zutul-puk Monastery by crossing Drolma-la Pass, 15KM, takes about 6 - 7hours
Today our parikarama leads to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Mount Kailash. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point at Drolma La, 5,200 m. before descending to the gradual field towards Zuthulphuk for the overnight camp. Zuthulphuk has a small monastery.
Day13 Trek back to Darchen,14Km, 4- 5hours
The winding gradual tracks finally ends our holy pilgrimage 5hours, Overnight at Darchen.
Day14 Drive from Darchen to Paryang (4550m, 340km, 9hours). overnight at Paryang ( Gusethouse, dorm bed)
Day15 Drive from Paryang to Saga (252km, 7-8hours). Overnight at Saga ( Guesthouse, dorm bed)
Day16 Drive from Saga to Lhatse (300Km, 9hours ). Overnight at Lhatse.
Day17 Drive from Lhatse to Lhasa (450km, 7hours). Overnight at Lhasa.
Day18 Lhasa airport dropping off, end the trip.

Day05 Ganden / Hepu / Yama Do, trekking 5-6 hours, 17km Overnight in Tent
The first day of trekking begins at the highest point on the Ganden Kora. From here walk along a saddle trail. After leaving this trail with wondrous views traverse the west side of the ridge before passing through an ancient Hepu village. Later in the day pass through Ani Pagong, a narrow bottleneck in the trail and former site of a nunnery. You will end the day with an ascent towards Yama Do, where will set up camp.
Day06 Yama Do / Tsotup Chu Valley, trekking 5-7hours, 10km Overnight in Tent
In the morning leave the valley and make our way through a steep gully rising form the stream bank. Finally, we climb over the Shug La (5250m) and begin our climb down through treacherous boulder fields. Later, we cross Tsotup Chu, a large stream winding through the valley floor. A comfortable camp will be set up in one of the many herder fields.
Day07 Tsotup-chu Valley / Herders' Camps, trekking 5 hours, 14km Overnight in Tent
Today follow the Tsotup Chu down through its tributary and head towards the Chitu La pass (5100m). After ascending this rocky pass quickly descend down and find a beautiful place to camp in one of the fields surrounding the stream. Camping.
Day08 Herders' Camps / Nyango / Samye Monastery, 5-6 hours trekking Overnight at Samye Monastery guesthouse.
The trail gets wider and easier as following it through scrub forests in the main valley. Beautiful streams and lush forests surrounded. However, the desert is close by. The next few hours are arguably the most delightful part of the entire trek. More than 15 types of scrub trees, blooming rhododendrons, and vast meadow will amaze you every step of the way! After passing through this wondrous landscape arriving at the first permanent village Changtang since Hepu. From Changtang walking another 1.5 hours to arrive Nyangohere where you can take a tractor to Samye Monastery. Visit Samye Monastery in the afternoon.
Day09 Samye Monastery / Yumbulakang Palace & Trandruk Monastery/ Tsedang Overnight at Samye Monastery guesthouse
Drive from Samye to Tsedang, afternoon visit Yumbulakang Palace and Trandruk Monastery near the town.

Day08 Buguzari/Kado Nanka Island/Ampa Komlong Island Overnight in Tent Kado Nanka Island is a holy land, where there are lots of figures of Buddha and cave. There was Kado Monastery on the island but it was ruined during the Cultural Revolution. Fortunately there are the traces. Here is exactly the opposite side of the Mt. Tanggula and there are several grand stone standing so they are called the Gate of Tanggula that are very splendid. We can see many mongolian gazelles. Camping.
Day09 Ampa Komlong Island/Jiachangcuiguo/No. 1 Camp Overnight in Tent Jiachangcuiguo Yumen, which means the place to bath, is one of the four famous Yumens of Namtso Lake. It is said that people who bath here can get rid of evils and have good luck. The sand road around the lake many make you tired. Camping.
Day10 No. 1 Camp/Nam Township/Zhaxi Peninsula Overnight in Tent At this moment, we have rounded the lake. Zhaxi Peninsula is the largest peninsula around the lake, which is a tent town now. A great number of Tibetan people from different pastoral areas come here to meet and pilgrimage. It is very lively. Dorm bed.
Day11 Zhaxi Peninsula/Damxung/Lhasa Overnight in Lhasa In the end, we will round the the Zhaxi Peninsula. That is the whole trekking stuff. Then we will drive back to Lhasa.

Morning time visit TashiLumpo Monastery which was Built in1447 , spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas, then drive to Shigatse, about 90km from Gyantse. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, then drive by Friendship Hwy to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar. Guide will do preparations for the trek - hire yak porter and yaks. You may have a good view of Cho Oyu.
Day06 Trek to Tsojan Village (4500M) Overnight in Tent The elevation of Tsojan Village is 4500m and 4?C5 hours of trekking is needed. The trek begins in Old Tingri and you pass through Lunja as your head south towards Everest in the distance. The high flat plain typical of Tibet allows for gradual elevation gains during the day. A water-powered barley mill is passed along the way.
Day07 Trek to the beyond Nam- La Pass (5100M ) Overnight in Tent The elevation of Nam- La Pass is 5100m and you will need 6 hours for trekking. As you continue up the valley. Everest disappears behind the mountains and as the trail turns to the southeast and begins to climb to the pass. Camping at the beyond Nam- La.
Day08 Trek to Rongphu Monastery (4980M) Overnight at Rongbuk dorm bed. Continue along the way towards the main road by passing Zemukh village, connect with the main road and continue on to the Rongbuk Monastery.
Day09 Trek to E.B.C ( 5200M) Overnight at E.B.C Tent. Today you can have a good relax at Rongphu, and then head up to E.B.C. It only takes 2 hours hike to E.B.C from Rongphu, you can stay one night at E.B.C. Camping.
Day10 E.B.C/ Shigatse Overnight at Shigatse. After sunrise at E.B.C, start driving back to Shigatse, you may have Xiqian hot-springs nearby Lhatse.
Day11 Shigatse/ Lhasa Overnight at Lhasa. Drive back Lhasa by friendship Hwy, takes about 4 hours. Afternoon have a good rest at Lhasa.

Being at the radiant Oracle Lake of Lhamo Latso is a high point of this journey. It is the foremost 'vision' lake in Tibet and sitting Dalai Lamas were obligated to come here at least once in their lifetimes. Rain can be expected in July and August, less in June and September, and virtually none during the rest of year. Heavy snow, however, can blanket the passes from December through February. And, Chonggye is the birthplace of the 5th Dalai Lama (1617-1682). Day05: Tsetang sightseeing Overnight in Tsetang Visit Samye 40km west to Tsetang. It is the oldest monastery of Tibet (8th century). After lunch we make a trip in the Yarlung valley to visit the Yumbulakhang, a castle built in the 7th and 8th centuries during the time of the first Tibetan kings. Day06: Tsetang/ Sangri/ Woka Camping In the morning drive about 40 km to Sangri via Tsetang Bridge. On the way visit the remains of the Densatil Monastery located on the Phagdru Mountain, which is the ancestor temple of the Phagdru Kagyu, the most influential one of the four main sub-branches of the Kagyu Sect. After lunch at Sangri, drive downhill to Woka Waterpower Station. And then drive uphill for about 20 km and reach Woka village (3800 m), where you can take a hot spring bath at your own expenses. Prepare for trekking such as hiring horse, arranging luggage, etc. Day07: Trekking (26 km, 7-9 hours, 3800m-3900m) Camping Hike on the winding mountain path, through small valleys. After Qulong Temple, hike about 30 minutes, reach Qulong village and visit Qusang Temple, where Tsongkhapa once stayed to spreading Buddhist teachings of Gelug Sect. Day08: Trekking (about 28 km, 8-10 hours, 3900m-4100m) Camping Get up in the early morning to watch the sunrise appearing from the summit of the 5400m-Gyeluo La Snow Mountain. Afterward, begin trekking along the chattering brook. Clumps of azalea tree grow everywhere. So quiet the world that you feel just out of the world. Set up camp at Nayu valley. Day09: Trekking (about 23km, 7-9 hours) Camping Start trekking from Nayu valley, uphill first and then downhill along the mountain ridge. The slope is somewhat gentle all the way. Set up camp near the village in the lower reaches of the Dagu valley. Day10: Trekking Camping Trek downhill and reach the Lhamo Latso Lake (4900 m) along the valley. Surrounded by high mountains, the hoof-shaped lake cavers an area of about 2 square kilometers. Numerous believers regard it as the treasure mirror, which is able to reveal their fates. Highlighted with the now peaks, azaleas and the remains of the old temple, the scenery around the lake is very beautiful. Day11: Lhamo Latso Lake/ Ch?korgye/ Cuijiu Camping Pass by Ch?korgye Temple and trek downhill about 24 km to Cuijiu (4300 m) for 8 hours. As long as reach Cuijiu, end the trekking. Day12: Cuijiu/ Gyatsa/ Tsetang Overnight in Tsetang On the way visit the relic site of the Mansion of Lhagyari situated in Chusum County. It was originally built in 13th century and symbolizes the local ruling privilege of the descends of the Tobo Kingdom through the Sakya and Phagdru regimes. In the late afternoon reach Tsetang (3500 m) the "Playground of Monkeys" in legend. Day13: Lhasa airport dropping off.
